Spirituality is best expressed thoughtlessly

"Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance"; "Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side and it holds the universe together"; "I had a dream last night, I was eating a 10 lb. marshmallow. I woke up this morning and the pillow was gone"; "When a man's best friend is a dog, that dog has a problem"; Humor is a man's best friend, followed by a dog waiting to curl up at your feet; People have brilliant minds until they are made up... made up to be exclusive to other ideas that may hold truth.

Reflection from an indie movie~~

"God doesn't hate us... Because if he did he would not have made our hearts so bright."

I believe that protecting today's children--tomorrow's Mandelas and Mother Theresas and Aung San Suu Kyis--is the moral and common sense litmus test of our humanity in a world where millions of children's lives are ravaged by the wars, neglect, abuse, and racial, ehtnic, religious, and class divisions of adults.

--Marian Wright Edelman

I believe this includes adults who were once children too. Having lived such nightmares well into adulthood, we also count as well.

A quote by Benjamin Mays

"The tragedy of life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. It isn't a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, but it is a calamity not to dream. It is not a disgrace not to reach the stars, but it is a disgrace to have no stars to reach for. Not failure, but low aim, is a sin."

It's time to do whatever it takes to make our nation treat our children right and to live up to its promise of fair opportunity. And we have the responsibility to ensure all children what we now provide for some children.

The chain of influence...

What experiences shape (our) outlook, forge (our) convictions? The links in any chain of influence are too numerous, too complex to trace. But being aware that such chains exist, that we can choose to join them, and that lasting change doesn't occur in their absence, is one of the primary ways to sustain hope, especially when our actions seem too insignificant to amount to anything.

--Paul Rogat Loeb

Honesty and hope

"Hope is believing in spite of the evidence, then watching the evidence change."

"The difficult I'll do right now. The impossible will take a little while."

Good book to read: The Impossible will take a little while, a citizen's guide to hope in a time of fear by Paul Rogat Loeb

How many different ways can I say Compassion?

Anything honestly reflected through the soul comes out with compassion compassion compassion, with a dash of patience. Hold each other and look into each other's eyes with love. Know when to be firm. Continue caring even when things may seem hopeless.

Spread the compassion gene.

"Nobody forgets the truth, they just get better at lying"

Why do people deceive themselves and live so fearfully? Why do people not take risks and choose instead to lead lives of quiet desperation?

Be courageous.

Vision

There are people that size other's up by looking for their flaws,
I look into people's souls.

I pray that light stays on and isn't ever snuffed out by evils and cruelty.

The golden light of George McGovern...

Dissent is what protects Democracy.
We need political parties where people can express themselves and have their minority ideas represented. We need voters to emerge who feel represented. There can be no elitist politicians...

We must have transparency and a complete end to war.
We need a world forum for discussing issues and a court for those to be tried for war crimes...the Busches, Donald Rumsfeld, McNamara, Nixon, Reagan, Kissinger, etc.

Are we fed up with a corporatist society, a war machine, racism, destruction of our farmers, a surveillance society.

Out with the old guard, in with the new ...

God please give me the strength to deal with manic people

Victoria keeps calling me when there is only a limited time in my life to help her. I know she is lonely lonely lonely. It must be hard in that hospital but at least they can help her. I have little time, but I will go see her tonight...

Spread love to all those in need, we can never turn our backs even for a moment to the truly needy...as we have all been there ourselves.

LOVE LOVE LOVE

all those in true need

spread peace to help our minds wrap around PEACE

"Love is the essence of God."

Dear God,
Give me the courage to live and work for a new heaven and a new Earth as Jesus did.
Give me the freedom to be critical where I see evil and to offer praises where I see
good.
Most of all, make me faithful to the vision you have given me, so that wherever I go
and whomever I meet,
I can be a sign of your all-renewing love.

Amen.
On sacrifice~

"Love, to be real, must cost--it must hurt--it must empty us of self."

On contemplation~

"Seeking the face of God in everything, everyone, everywhere, all the time, and seeing His hand in every happening--that is contemplation in the heart of the world."

On silence~

"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today, let us begin."

"In loving one another through our works we bring an increase of grace and a growth in divine love."

We need less corruption and more kindness and honesty...

How do we change the mind's of self-centered business people and drunken and drug-addled people? How do we get more of the people on the streets to do what is right and just with an understanding of compassion and not selfishness or for payoffs? How do we get ill gotten and deceptive gossip to end?

64 dollar question folks? Get this one right and you get the girl and the sunset...

Consciousness Speaks...

..."and what is our body other than an object, as seen through an electron-scanning microscope with its tremendous magnification? Even as it exists at present and based on an intelligent projection, on what the microscope has already revealed, the body appears as really nothing but emptiness and certainly not a solid object. Furthermore, deep within this emptiness, the subatomic physicist tells us, is a nucleus which, being an oscillating field begins to dissolve, showing further organized fields--protons, neutrons, and even smaller particles, each of which also dissolves into nothing but the rhythm of the universal pulse. In other words, there is no solidity at all, either at the most sublime level of the body or at the heart of the universe. The compact nucleus at the very heart of the atom, then, is nothing solid at all but rather a dynamic individual pattern of concentrated energy throbbing and vibrating at an incredible speed."

Vibrations

We are at a certain vibrational point at an atomic level.
Our brains fire in musical patterns.
When our brain's neural patterns fire, and we move, does that make sound or does sound cause movement?

In Playboy I always read the articles to make sure I'm not missing the punchline.

Moi

thoughts

..."what appears is merely a kind of reflection of that basic ground, call it Consciousness-at-rest, God, or whatever. Seeing the oneness, not only in the manifestation but the oneness between the manifest and the unmanifest, is all that is really meant by enlightenment. Once the individual thinks in terms of his individuality, forgetting this oneness, not only between the manifest and the unmanifest, but the manifestation as a whole, then he begins to think in terms of personal security. Once he begins to think in terms of personal security, he creates any number of problems for himself. So, at that level, the first step in the understanding of the individual is the fact that there can be no such thing as security for the individual, that movement and changes are the very basis of life and living. Therefore, in seeking security, he is seeking something that just doesn't exist. That understanding is the beginning of the understanding of life, and through the understanding of life, to go back into impersonality. The child in his earliest stages, has an inherent awareness of things. It is his experienced actuality. So no questions arise. But when the intellect gradually expands, the child begins to ask questions. When the child has its first confrontation with the phenomenon of death, death brings the idea of life to the child. Death and disintegration bring the idea of life and security to the child. As the intellect proceeds, the intuitive natural awareness with the Oneness gradually gets dimmed, clouded."

Questions that arise for me are how does the primal mind affect all of this and our emotions and how we feel about things without just conscious thought. Also, how can we change neural firing patterns in our brain, so as to rebuild a foundation more aligned with pure awareness?

When thoughts arise, see them as just waves on an ocean passing overhead. Do not attach to them; let them pass by without attachment and suffering; feel natural joy arise.

Ever Dance with an Angel in the Pale Moonlight?

An act of pure consciousness is smiling with egg all over your face, falsely

and they stand there, utterly beguiled at Pure Consciousness...

It's the what you get when you fall in love with no "I" in loving breath.
